Applied Science (Medical)
Students will complete a range of experiments and exercise practical skills throughout their two year course.
They will also undertake research and develop both practical and theoretical scientific skills. Medical science pathway, which is for those students interested in either working in the science/medical field or wishing to progress to higher education or apprenticeship in the area. Students will cover the basic principles and applications of biology and chemistry together with general sciences and maths.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Grade 4 in GCSE combined science or separate sciences Grade 4 in English Language
NEXT STEPS
The qualification carries up to 112 UCAS points and is recognised by higher education providers as contributing to admission requirements for many relevant courses. Students have gone on to study Biomedical sciences, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical science, Applied medical sciences, Biological sciences, Pharmacology and physiology, Medical biochemistry, Midwifery, Paramedic science, Microbiology, Food nutrition, Nursing and Radiography.
